About Mountain Man Wrestling Club
Mountain Man Wrestling Club (MMWC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing opportunities through wrestling. We believe that wrestling provides a powerful platform for youth development and personal growth. On and off the mat, wrestling instills essential life skills and values such as discipline, perseverance, resilience, self-confidence, and camaraderie.
MMWC is a USA Wrestling (USAW) sanctioned wrestling club. MMWC is one of the only organizations in the area providing access to elite coaching and camp instructors. We are filling the gap helping propel athletes to the next level and equipping them with the tools to compete at national events. Essentially, MMWC was formed to expand on the basics and bring focused and technique-driven training to the Mission Valley. We are not school affiliated and are not a part of Western Montana Little Guy (WMLG) wrestling which is geared toward new wrestlers. We highly encourage participating in WMLG and school wrestling programs to gain basic skills and confidence. MMWC intends to build off the basics learned in WMLG programs providing athletes with more mat time opportunities, in-depth and technique focused training.
MMWC is all about the kids, and we support our athletes in all situations. For those who may not otherwise be able to afford tournament fees, gear, certifications, training, travel expenses, etc., we provide opportunities for all. We are excited to have the opportunity to host multiple tournaments and a camp, bringing competition to the Mission Valley.
Who we are
Our coaches are volunteers from around the Mission Valley investing countless hours and resources to train and mentor athletes. Our coaches have an abundance of experience and enthusiasm to advance the sport of wrestling. Without a doubt, they are dedicated and deeply involved in their community actively supporting the success of our youth on and off the mat.

What to Expect
MMWC provides training for three different wrestling styles (folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco). Practices will be focused and technique-driven, working to build upon flow and sequence of moves and positions.
Commit. Practices are held 3x a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. You can choose to come to any and all, but we encourage athletes to attend all practices as mat time is key to success. Parents/Guardians are responsible for getting their athlete(s) to practice.
Tournaments & Travel. Events for competitive athletes in Montana include USAW, Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), and Open tournaments. Unlike WMLG and school programs, MMWC is not responsible for registering athletes, transportation, and all other necessities — parents are responsible for their athlete. If you need assistance, technical or other support, please reach out to MountainManWrestling@gmail.com.
Season. Our training season typically starts after the high school season has concluded and runs through May. Tournaments start in January and end in May.
